Jawahar Lal Nehru P.G. College, Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh  affiliated to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur and Recognized by National Council for Teacher Education has been founded in 1996. The college is situated at Maharajganj District. The college has lush-green, pollution free campus with all infrastructure compatible to any modern educational institution in Purvanchal.

This College has been founded with motto to provide higher education to boys and girls of Maharajganj District. Management of this college is committed to impart qualitative education at higher level. College has dexterously been in service of Education since its inception. Today this Institution has been recognized as one of the best education centre in  Purvanchal.

The college is managed by a Society registered under Society Act, 1860 named The Managing committee of Jawahar Lal Nehru Smarak Degree College, Maharaganj (UP). At present there are two faculties in the college Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts, under these faculties  College is running  Degree courses B.A., B.Ed, B.P.Ed. and M.Ed..

The academic session of college starts in the month of July and ends in the month of April-May every year. College take Admissions in Education Faculty through University Entrance Examination and as per guidance of Examining Body/UP Govt./NCTE. College charges fee from students as per norms of Examining body (Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur).
